Biology classroom resources designed for student comprehension.
This is a printable cut-n-paste activity that can also be easily used for an interactive notebook (just print at 80% for sizing). Students read about the structure and function of the different types of cells found in a leaf, and then using clearly written directions they build their leaf onto a designated area and fill out the table using the text.
The functions of the following structures are discussed:
❁ Stomata
❁ Guard cells
❁ Cuticle/waxy layer
❁ Epidermis
❁ Xylem
❁ Phloem
❁ Palisade
❁ Spongy layer
.... and how they all tie into the function of the leaf and photosynthesis!
