You asked for it, and I listened. The Biology Roots standards are here!
This is for those of you that have bought my curriculum or bundles and would like some guidance on aligning the products to the standards. To provide some insight, I’ve taught biology in Massachusetts. The MA Department of Education recently adopted the NGSS standards. Prior to this, the MA standards were very thorough. One way you could describe the standards was a mile wide and an inch deep. With the implementation of NGSS, they are rather the opposite: detailed but do not cover quite as much material. The shifting in pedagogy in NGSS provides a model based learning. Due to this, the Biology Roots standards meet or support many different state standards, including GSE (Georgia), TEKS (Texas), and NGSS.
Though my resources align to most of the states’ standards, I am not able to provide a comprehensive list for all 50 states at this time. Georgia is available because my first time exhibiting at NSTA was in Atlanta 🙂 I hope you find this helpful!
